CB&A is an education pr agency.

Labor Day has come and gone, but we’re still reminiscing about our favorite summer memories over here at CB&A. Here is the second half of the team sharing what made summer special for each of them.

If you missed part one – you can find it here: Summer Memories Part I

Thanks for reading and try to enjoy the last of the warm weather for the year. Happy back to school season from all of us!

(Of course, with summer easing out the door, it’s time for – you guessed it – some football! We invite you to join us in cheering vociferously whenever our glorious gridiron guys from Green Bay are on the field. As in… Go Packers! We thank you.)

The highlight of my summer was taking a road trip to Toronto. I went with a friend from high school and we spent three days exploring all that the city had to offer. From great food and drink, to tourist hot spots like the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Art Gallery of Ontario. We even took a trip down to see Niagara Falls and spent our last night exploring Toronto Island Park. It was a fun trip filled with a lot of walking, some Tim Horton’s and of course, a little poutine.

My favorite summer memory this year was celebrating family milestones. We started out the summer celebrating my grandma and grandpa Steil’s 65th wedding anniversary on May 29. To honor this milestone, they renewed their vows with family and friends looking on. It was a very special moment for my grandparents and the entire family. Then, on June 11, my parents, Greg and Julie Steil, celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. My family is German, so we took them out to their favorite German restaurant to enjoy some beer and wiener schnitzel. Prost!

The first picture is of my grandparents during their vow renewal, and second is our family at Feil’s German Restaurant in Randolph for my parent’s anniversary.

My favorite summer memory was a trip out to San Diego with my mom to celebrate graduation. Between the ocean, the zoo and the perfect weather, it was hard not to fall in love with this city. My mom and I both defied gravity by going paragliding. As a SCUBA diver, however, my favorite moment would have to be my first encounter with a shark and a sea lion.

Standing on the top deck of the Island Queen, sipping a hot cup of Red Rose tea while enjoying a three-hour cruise from Parry Sound, Ontario, around the 30,000 islands of Georgian Bay.  That’s the largest concentration of freshwater island in the world.  It was a beautiful, sunny day, and a once-in-a-life-time experience. Parry Sound is the only community I’ve ever visited in North America that had a water “runway.”

Paul Mamelka – IT Administrator

Cruising through the islands of Parry Sound was indeed divine, as was canoeing for kilometers through the rivers and lakes of the Haliburton Highlands, occasionally getting deliciously lost.
