ISTE 2014: After Hours

When attending ISTE 2014 make sure to explore the city, eat good food, have a few libations and kick back with a little fun.

If you are able to get a few precious moments away from the education conference, here are a few good places for food, drink and fun in Atlanta .

Food

In the heart of little Italy stands Antico Pizza. Taking pizza to another level, the owner flies in fresh ingredients from Italy each week, and in just 60 seconds, cooks a whole pizza to perfection with custom ovens built from ancient Santa Maria brick and Mt. Vesuvius volcanic rock.

Voted maker of the best burger in Atlanta by multiple local and national publications, The Vortex is a must when visiting Georgia. Opened by three siblings in 1992, this lively bar and grill is filled to the brim with eccentric decorations, award-winning food, an extensive selection of creative cocktails and a festive, non-conformist atmosphere that keeps loyal patrons coming back for more.

Drink

Although not a bar, SweetWater Brewery is the place to be for happy hour. Started by college roommates, the SweetWater’s doors open to the public for tastings and tours Wednesday through Sunday, with a live band on Fridays.

Join the journey of specialty beers brewed on site and craft pub food at The Wrecking Bar Brewpub. Located in a historical home built in 1900, The Wrecking Bar is a local treasure not to be missed.

Featured in Draft Magazine, the Gold Channel, and Best of Atlanta by Atlanta Magazine, The Porter Beer Bar has 44 beers on tap and 700 bottle beers available!

Fun atl

Take a stroll through the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and visit the Four Seasons and Imaginary Worlds exhibits. Be sure to check the calendar to see if there is a concert!

At Zoo Atlanta, among a wide array of entertaining critters, you can visit with the only twin pandas in the United States.
