EDUCAUSE 2014: After Hours in Orlando

The EDUCAUSE Annual Conference returns to Orlando this year, where the best and brightest minds in higher education marketing will convene to network with peers, discover new approaches and discuss the future of the postsecondary market.

Orange County Convention Center serves as the conference venue, and Orlando’s world-famous attractions provide ample opportunities for conference-goers to unwind after a long day of moving and shaking.

At CB&A, we hold fun and play in high regard, so here are a few suggestions for making the most of your trip to Orange County…

Gatorland

Gatorland

Gatorland. “When the sun goes down, the swamp comes alive.” According to the website, Gatorland provides affordable family fun while showcasing thousands of alligators and crocodiles. Looking for an extra thrill? Check out the swamp zip-line tours.

If you’re in the mood for an active adventure, start at West Orange Trail Bikes and Blades Co. The trail stretches 22 miles along the edge of Lake Apopka and passes through the small downtown of Winter Garden. The town’s shops and restaurants offer welcome reprieve during a hot hike or bike ride.

Being from Wisconsin, we’re compelled to make a brewery recommendation. If you’re in the mood for some handcrafted brews, visit Orlando Brewing. It’s Florida’s only USDA-certified organic brewery, and the company “brews in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot German Purity Law of 1516, using only hops, malted barley, water and yeast.” Cheers!
