CB&A is an education pr agency.

The 2013 ISTE conference is quickly approaching at the end of June, but before the official program begins, ISTE Unplugged will kick-off the week. This series of independent events take place in, around, and with the support of ISTE, providing activities for hundreds of social media and tech-savvy educators.

Hack Education will begin the ISTE festivities on Saturday, June 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The all-day “unconference,” previously titled SocialEdCon and EduBloggerCon, typically draws 200 to 300 participants from around the world. The event provides a collaborative environment for informal conversations about important issues related to social media and education technology. This year Hack Education will be co-chaired by popular edublogger, Audrey Watters.

The fun continues that evening with the Hack Education After Party, sponsored by CB&A in partnership with StudyBlue and Follett. Continue conversations with new friends from earlier that day and have some fun on your first night in San Antonio! Held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk, the event will include plenty of activities and networking opportunities for Hack Education attendees. The first 150 guests to arrive will receive a drink ticket (and maybe something else!).

Other ISTE Unplugged events include:

Sunday, June 23

  • Global Education Summit – A three-hour mini-conference follow-up to the online Global Education Conference, focusing on globally-connecting students and teachers.

Monday, June 24

  • EdTechWomen at ISTE – The first-ever dinner and networking event for women and their supporters in education technology.
  • The Bloggers’ Café – An informal conference center for bloggers, social media savvy and others looking to connect.

The CB&A team is looking forward to sunny San Antonio and connecting with other ed tech advocates at these ISTE Unplugged events.
