Key Curriculum Press Promotes Tim Pope to Curriculum Director

New Department will Focus on Building Partnerships with District and School Leaders

Emeryville, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2009) – Key Curriculum Press announces the promotion of Tim Pope to Curriculum Director. In this recently created position, Pope will forge partnerships with district and school leaders on content topics such as aligning Key Curriculum Press’ textbooks with a district’s scope and sequence, and evaluating textbook implementation. Pope will lead the company’s new implementation department, which will support schools during both the sales and implementation processes to ensure their success as they move to inquiry-based learning.

“We’ll be there to provide support throughout the sales and implementation process to assure success and provide teachers and leaders with the needed tools and training,” Pope said.

Pope joined Key Curriculum Press as a first-year implementation specialist in September 2005 and was promoted to Professional Development Manager and later Mathematics Product Manager. Prior to Key Curriculum Press, he worked as a program coordinator at the Charles A. Dana Center at the University of Texas at Austin, coordinating the development of an online mathematics learning service and leading professional development workshops. Earlier, Pope taught mathematics in Texas and was Principal of St. Bonaventure High School, a 7-12 school on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Thoreau, New Mexico.

Pope earned a master’s degree from the University of Dayton in Ohio and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He also has a certificate in private school leadership from the University of Dallas.
