Fourier Systems Launches Computing Science
Exploration Grant Program

Matching Grant Program to Help Educators Build
Technology-Rich Science Classroom

Rosh Haayin, Israel (June 26, 2008) – Giving educators an opportunity to create and implement a science classroom supported by technology, Fourier Systems is launching the Computing Science Exploration Grant Program during the National Educational Computing Conference in San Antonio. Open for submissions now through Jan. 1, 2009, the program will award one recipient and three runners-up.

Enabling the winning entrant to incorporate technology into his or her classroom, Fourier Systems will match the contribution of the applicant up to a $7,500 value (approximate cost of 15 Nova5000s, for a total of up to 30 Nova5000s). As well as being able to equip an entire science and math computing classroom or lab, the recipient also will receive a $500 U.S. voucher for selection of any probeware offered by Fourier Systems (more than 65 probes for conducting science experiments to choose from). The three runners-up will receive a $500 U.S. voucher for Fourier Systems probeware.

“Students are dealing with a situation unlike any before – a global environment, where after graduation they are competing not only with students in their own nation, but with their peers worldwide,” said Dovi Bruker, CEO of Fourier Systems. “We want to empower students to increase their math, science and technology skills, allowing them to create new technology, develop innovative ideas and thrive in a global marketplace. We hope this grant will be a starting place for inspiring many students.”

Entrants must complete an award application, which can be found online at www.nova5000.com/science-grant/. All submissions should demonstrate how and why the applicant would benefit from the Nova5000s and other science and math tools in the classroom or science lab. Applications will be judged on the following criteria: content (50 percent of total score), originality and creativity of ideas (40 percent of total score), and adherence to contest parameters (10 percent of total score).

The contest entries receiving the highest scores will be declared the winners. The winning entrants and their schools will be notified on or about March 15, 2009, and will be required to complete a grant acceptance form.
