Funds For Learning Announces E-rate Survey Results

Survey of E-rate Applicants Shows Opinions and Perceptions of the Program

Edmond, Okla. (June 3, 2008) – Funds For Learning, the nation’s leading E-rate consulting and compliance firm, announces the results of a survey of E-rate applicants conducted in partnership with eSchool News. More than 700 applicants participated in the survey that gathered the opinions of E-rate applicants. Some survey respondents also participated in a focus group via EdRoom to further discuss topics related to the E-rate program. The survey results along with analysis completed by the eSchool News editorial team appear in the June issue of eSchool News, and are available online at www.eschoolnews.com.

“It’s great to see that, in general, most people have a positive opinion of the E-rate program. And recent changes to the program, such as the Bishop Perry Order, are having a positive impact on applicants’ ability to manage the E-rate process,” said Scott Weston, Funds For Learning’s Executive Director of Communications about the survey results. “The survey findings show that the 65 percent of those who expressed an opinion feel that the E-rate program is well managed by program administrators. Also, 72 percent indicated that the Bishop Perry Order has had a positive impact on the program.”

“The effort to survey the nation’s E-rate applicants is a great success. We had tremendous participation from a variety of E-rate applicants located across the country. Funds For Learning is grateful to all those who participated, and we plan to conduct another survey in the future to measure changes in opinions about the program,” said Weston.
