Discovery Education Presents Ed Begley, Jr., as the Featured
Speaker for the Opening Session of FETC 2010 on Jan. 13

(Jan. 7, 2010)Discovery Education is the proud platinum sponsor of FETC 2010’s Opening Session on Wed., Jan. 13 at 3:30 p.m., which will feature actor, author, environmentalist, and activist Ed Begley, Jr., presenting about the roles science and technology play in environmental education.

Ed Begley, Jr. – known for showing up to Hollywood events on his bicycle – is involved in numerous environmental groups, including the Thoreau Institute, Tree People and Friends of the Earth. He also is an established actor. First known for his Emmy award-winning role on the long-running hit television series, St. Elsewhere, and appearances in movies such as A Mighty Wind, Begley is now co-starring in Planet Green’s series, Living with Ed. In addition, Begley has authored two books: Living Like Ed and Ed Begley, Jr.’s Guide to Sustainable Living, the latter of which was released in September 2009.

Demonstrating its on-going commitment to science and environmental sustainability education, Discovery Education is proud to provide teachers and administrators with the opportunity to hear from Ed Begley, Jr., during FETC 2010’s Opening Session.
