Education Technology Innovators Sought For Innovation Incubator at 2014 SIIA Education Industry Summit

The Education Division of SIIA has issued a call for applicants to its Innovation Incubator Program. Developers of promising new technologies in the K-12 and postsecondary space will be invited to participate in the program at the annual SIIA Education Industry Summit in San Francisco, May 12-14, 2014. The program identifies and supports entrepreneurs in their development and distribution of innovative learning technologies. The deadline to apply is March 7, 2014. more

SIIA Education Division Calls for 2014 Vision K-20 Survey Participants

In conjunction with FETC 2014, SIIA announces the launch of its seventh annual Vision K-20 Survey. Sponsored by the Education Division of SIIA, the Vision K-20 Survey gives educators, administrators, and faculty members from K-12 and postsecondary educational institutions the opportunity to evaluate their current technology and compare it to prior results in a short online survey. Initial aggregated results will be released at the 2014 Education Industry Summit (EIS) in May, with a final report released at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) annual conference in June. more

SIIA Estimates $7.9 Billion US Market for PreK-12 Educational Software and Digital Content

The Education Division of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) released its “2013 U.S. Education Technology Industry Market: PreK-12 Report.” The report values the overall PreK-12 non-hardware education technology market at $7.9 billion, compared to last year’s valuation of $7.76 billion. Data in the report was collected from 122 service providers and publishers to show a supply-side view of the market not available through traditional customer data collection techniques. This report contains longitudinal data from the three years of the study and shows key trends within the industry. more
