Students with hearing loss can have difficulty with academic achievement in areas such as language arts, vocabulary, arithmetic, and problem solving.  That said, a recent study found that teens were generally aware that listening to their personal media players too loudly could affect their hearing, but most said they play their device at maximum level and have no plans to change that behavior.  The month of May is ASHA's annual <b>Better Hearing and Speech Month</b>.  This year, <b>Califone International</b> and <b>ASHA</b> are teaming up to spread the message about better listening practices and how educators and parents can teach students how to listen safely.</p></td></tr></table>]]></description>

       <title>Legal Settlement Funds Available for Educational Technology</title>
